Giving the multiplayer games a slower ramp up in difficulty would be a fun way to introduce the series to newcomers - playing the multiplayer games with people on Fever sometimes still lead to frustration which makes sense, it's a difficult series hahaĪs far as the single player games go, I really enjoyed that Megamix had a visual indicator for the timing of your inputs, but I'd like a return to the difficulty of Fever! I failed the games in Fever for a while before I was able to progress, and often would scrape by with just an "OK," but I think I failed only one stage in the main story of Megamix. Try not to mess up and make your fellow stepswitchers mad. In this minigame, march along with the music while switching between onbeats and offbeats. This is a remake of a minigame called Lockstep from an old rhythm game Rhythm Heaven (2009). I think the Switch could lend itself to more of a multiplayer focus in the games - about 20% of the games could be played in multiplayer mode in Rhythm Heaven Fever, and I don't remember if Megamix had many multiplayer modes outside of the Streetpass boxing game. A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux. I want a game with 50 new original minigames! Or 30ish new games and then some of those repeat as stage twos Not sure how this would work technically, but could be an avenue.Ģ) Licensed songs - this is way out there because of money and regional differences (I guess Elite Beat Agents did it), but it would be awesome if remixes took well-known songs and put them to rhythm games. That being said, I personally see two opportunities for the series.ġ) DIY mode - I wouldn't want a DIY-focused gem like WarioWare DIY, but it would be cool to import songs and be able to apply the rhythm games to them.

As long as there are fun concepts and tight gameplay, I'm all good. Personally, I'll be happy with whatever because I'm a fanboy. My question is, after Megamix, where can the franchise go next on the Switch? Can we expect another mix of old and new games with maybe a cute story mode like Megamix? Will there be a new gimmick like the touch screen controls introduced in the DS game? With 5M+ sold, it would be crazy for the franchise to die out with Megamix (which sold. Rhythm Heaven - this small, Japanese, rhythm-based game has gone through 4 iterations already, touching both Nintendo's handheld and console offerings.
